Does Cover Art Really Make A Difference?

Which cover would make you buy the book?  All three covers are the same book, all are free.  I’d buy the first one.  How about you?  The science of cover art is to attract buyers to the book – even though we are not supposed to judge a book by it’s cover.

  1. The second on is the best. It promises just the right amount of sex and bad ass-ary.

  2. One looks like a romance, one looks like a Laurel K. Hamilton book, and one looks like… I guess like Urban Fantasy, but a bit glossy, like a romancy urban fantasy. I think I’m most attracted to the red cover, though that’s the one that reminds me of a Hamilton cover, and I’m not particularly a fan.
