Nell’s Book Hunt

Nell’s otherwise occupied, so I get to take over fill in again!  The Witches of Dark Root looks pretty interesting and seems to have good reviews on both Goodreads and Amazon.  I can certainly relate to wanting to escape a small town and oppressive mother.

But for Maggie Maddock, Dark Root is also a prison, a place where she is forced to spend her days working in her mother’s magick shop, forfeiting any dreams of her own as her mother prepares her to take over the family coven. So when a mysterious stranger suddenly appears and offers to take her away from it all, Maggie jumps at the chance.

Now, seven years later, a strange phone call sends Maggie home where she is unprepared for what awaits her: a town that’s lost its magic, a mother with an unexplained illness, a house buried in secrets, and a renewed sibling rivalry.

Will Maggie run again, or will she embrace her witchy roots to save all that she loves?

Other books in the series:

Per Goodreads, there also appears to be a new series by this author coming in November of 2015.  It’s titled The Good Girl’s Guide to Being A Demon and looks like it might be a young adult paranormal romance.
