Nell’s Book Hunt

Ruby and I were waiting for our supper last night at a local restaurant and over a couple of beers we discussed books.  I know, right? Shocker.  Anyway, Ruby had been contacted to do a review of a book whose author had died from cancer.  That was a somber discussion because authors are not supposed to be mortal.  They are forever supposed to keep telling the stories of the characters we love! From that subject we wandered to dead characters – which brought up zombies.  That’s Ruby’s thing – not mine.  I prefer other immortals like vampires, shifters and whatnot.  That leads me into today’s book hunt.

Vampire Deadtective Mac FlynnTitle:  Vampire Dead-tective
Author: Mac Flynn
Series: Dead-tective #1
Book Description: Paranormal romance thriller episodes revolving around a pair of unlikely partners in their quest for truth, justice, and a pint of blood.

There are those who hunt the night, and then there’s Liz Stokes. She’s a normal woman with an abnormal roommate until he up and gets himself murdered. Now she’s inherited his unique ring and even more unique business partner, and the world of the paranormal is sprung on her like a surprise birthday party nobody wants. Together the pair find out that they don’t like each other. A lot. The catch? They can’t kill each other or the survivor will die, too.

Now Liz has to navigate this new and frightening world while dealing with her eNervous_Nellie_100qually new and frightening companion. It’s a mad chase with mad scientists, men in black, and cop werewolves who want to take more than a bite out of crime.

This book is the first in a series of 5 and is a novella.  It appears that all the stories are novellas, so you could pick them up and devour them quickly.  I like the premise to this story because it includes 3 of my favorite descriptors: paranormal, romance & thriller.  It also happens to be free on Kindle right now.

  1. I think you need to give Zombies more of a chance. They are people too!
