I am a fan of Eve Dallas and her gorgeous, rich, smart and Irish accented husband, Roarke, from way back.  I binge read book #1 to book #20-something in a summer.  I love the mysteries and I love the characters that are interwoven into Dallas’s life without her consent.  She has friends, now, dammit!  She has to be social – she has to do things that do not involve work.  She is fantastic.  She stands for the murdered and finds them justice.

badge4v4This short 3 hour and a little more audio book novella is a quick dip into her world.  There isn’t any major story arc info that is revealed, so you can read it/listen to it without worry about what order or what happened in the prior book or anything like that.

The story is about Darlene Fitzgibbons.  She kills her brother and then jumps off his terrace for a 52 story fall to her death.  Eve and Roarke are called in because Louise and Charles know the victims and swear that it can’t be a murder/suicide.

OF COURSE, Eve investigates!  What she uncovers is truly someone getting their kicks IN DEATH. Just one tiny spoiler….you have GOT to read the take down of the suspect in interview.  Well played, EVE and DELIA – very well played!!
