Nell’s Gossip and Book Hunt 2/22/2020
Welcome to my Sunday book hunt and author gossip. Keep coming back for updates on book releases and news from favorite authors.
Back with new releases again… they keep writin’ them, we keep readin’ them.
A couple of Sundays ago, I talked about Ken Lange’s books “where science fiction and myth collide” and it got me thinking about how many other series out there have I missed because of my insistence to stay in a certain genre. I found this series and it looks really good. It’s another series that plays in the blur the lines of urban fantasy and science fiction. I haven’t read these books, but they look and sound pretty awesome.
Kathleen McClure writes The Fortune Chronicle series. The protagonist is Colonel Gideon Quinn and… well… read the description for yourself. Also, if you go to Kathleen McClure’s website, you will see that she’s willing to give this first book away free. I’m giving it a try because free is free and I just might be broadening my horizons.
Title: Orphan, Dodger, Soldier, Spy
formally known as Reversal of Fortune: The Ducati Op
Colonel Gideon Quinn and his 12th company are on a mission behind the lines, under orders to steal the plans for a new and dangerous weapon being developed by the Midasian military.
But the mission soon goes swarm, and Gideon is left drawing enemy fire so his team can get the stolen intelligence to safety.
Now he’s trapped in the enemy’s city, and faced with a deadly and cruel foe who will do anything, to anyone, in order to achieve his ends.
Book #1 in Kathleen McClure’s Gideon Quinn’s Adventures is called Soldier of Fortune. I’m thinking I might have to have WiFi where ever I go because I think I’ll have to download this book right away after reading the prequel.
