Nell’s Gossip and Book Hunt 7/5/20
Welcome to my Sunday book hunt and author gossip. Keep coming back for updates on book releases and news from favorite authors.
Back with new releases again… they keep writin’ them, we keep readin’ them.
- How is everyone doing? Keeping up with your yearly goal? I kinda fell into a slump. I was 4 books ahead of the game and then caught the “I don’t want to read right now” bug. Now I’m behind 1 book. It’ll be ok, though, because I keep telling myself that it’s not a rule, just a suggestion. Anyway, my first find today might be enough to lighten my load and take away the seriousness of the world right now. Check it out!
Title: Magical Midlife Madness
Author: K.F. Breene
Series: Leveling Up #1
Release date: February 16, 2020
Description: Happily Ever After” wasn’t supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of twenty years packs up and heads for greener pastures and my son leaves for college, that’s exactly what my life becomes.
This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at forty I’m ready to carve my own path.
Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills. I’ll be taking care of a centuries old house that called to me when I was a kid. It’s just temporary, I tell myself. It’ll just be for a while.
That is, until I learn what the house really is, something I never could’ve imagined.
Thankfully forty isn’t too old to start an adventure, because that’s exactly what I do. A very dangerous adventure that will change my life forever. I have a chance to start again, and this time, I make the rules.
Book two in the Top 10 Kindle Store and internationally bestselling series by USA Today Bestselling Author, K.F. Breene!
The decision has been made. Jessie has taken the magic, and all the weird that goes with it. Including wings.
There’s only one problem – she can’t figure out how to access them.
Through a series of terrible decisions, Jessie realizes she must ask for help. Gargoyle help.
But she could’ve never predicted who answers her call – he’s an excellent flier, incredibly patient, and a good trainer. He’s also incredibly handsome. And interested.
Maybe flying isn’t the only thing she needs help with. Maybe she needs help getting back on that saddle, too, emerging into the dating pool.
Except, the new gargoyle is also an alpha, just like Austin, and the town isn’t big enough for two.
Turns out, flying is the least of her problems.
- Here’s a freebie for today. It looks really good, too. To scope it out, click on the link above. It’ll take you to the site where you can choose the format that you need for your ereader. Poof, there it is!
Title: Death’s Door
Author: David Reichart
Series: Palm Court Detectives #1
Release date: October 19, 2015
Description: What Jesse Yates wants more than anything is to fit into society and have people think of him as a regular guy. But he’s not a regular guy. He’s an elite warrior, battle tested to the max in Iraq and Afghanistan, first in Marine Special Ops and later as a Navy SEAL. When he finally decides to walk away from the military, Yates isn’t planning on making further use of his extreme training and lethal skills. But somebody else is.
Palm Court Detectives, a skyrocketing new agency run by a laicized Jesuit priest in a refashioned vintage motel, needs a guy exactly like Yates to add clout to its roster. His first assignment for the detective agency based in Mobile, Alabama, takes Yates under cover at a trucking company that has been targeted by hijackers. Jesse’s civilian naiveté allows him to be drawn quickly into a turf war between hijackers who he likes, outlaw bikers who like him (or what he can do for them), and a drug cartel renegade who has a severe Jesse Yates problem and a chilling plot in the works.
Joining the eclectic, fun-loving team at Palm Court Detectives as a private investigator in training turns out to be everything Yates had hoped for and more—more excitement, more camaraderie, and more chances to die.
