Publisher’s Description: For almost a century, Ildaria Garcia has been on the run, a trouble magnet with a knack for taking down bad guys. Lately, her vigilante tendencies have drawn unwelcome attention to her fellow Immortals. Forced to relocate, Ildaria is supposed to lay low in a new town. Instead, she quickly entangles herself with six and a half feet of muscular, tattooed trouble.
Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, aka G.G., knows a lot about Immortals—enough to make him wary. Yet from the moment Ildaria walks into his club, he feels desire stronger than anything he’s known. Accepting the fact that they might be life mates is disconcerting. But when her past catches up to them, G.G. faces a choice—confront his demons at last, or lose a passion that’s hot as hell.

This book is part of a long standing series of romancing vampires. There is sex, some violence, swearing and a good ending.
Ildaria is a trouble magnet as the description says. She grew up quickly after she was turned at age 14. It was a horribly frightening event that has tortured her ever since. She is under the protection of Lucian Argenaeu so she has to follow his rules.
This is the first book of a 31 book series that I have read so I am missing pieces. Usually, I can figure out the players, and I did to an extent. There are some missing info that I need to fill by reading the previous 30 books.
This was a welcome read and one that was hard to put down. it was interesting to learn about another culture of vampires (each series has different vampire rules and culture standards). For instance, these vampires can actually have children. Rule is only one each 100 years. They can only change one person in their lifetime. Now that is tough since vampires live several human lifetimes. If they meet and fall in love with a human that is not a life mate, they will have to watch that person age and die because they need to save there turning chip for their life mate. I’m sure there is more to it, but since I’m a newbie to the series, that’s what I gleaned from the story. If they do meet their life mate, oh, boy – get out of the way cuz they gonna need to get to the other.
I enjoyed the simplicity of the story. There were no deep dark secrets that one part of the couple hid from the other. It was a great straight forward romance. Of course, there was some adventure, and the end? Hmmm….let’s just say…it’s very interesting and no one dies. I do believe I’ll be going back to read the first 30 in this series.
