Welcome to my Sunday book hunt and author gossip. Keep coming back for updates on book releases and news from favorite authors.
It’s Christmas Movie Time! Yay!!! I know, I know. Thanksgiving tends to get pushed out of the way, but Thanksgiving marks the time when folks are getting primed for the holiday season. Thanksgiving is when the fam meets and if you all draw names, it gets done then. If the fam buys for everyone, it’s Christmas list time. Oh, what fun a Christmas list is. Put your wildest dreams on that list even though you Santa won’t bring something so extravagant. My husband put a new pickup truck on his list for years. He ended up buying it himself, but, hey, at least Santa was aware!!
The usual way things work with Christmas books made into movies is that a lot of imagination is lost. I can’t see the picture in my head of what something looks like because of the picture already in front of me. It’s ok, though, because if I have to cook or any other event that won’t allow me to read, I’m saved through the book made into a movie. For example:
Christmas Town movie based on The Christmas Town book: Lauren Gabriel leaves everything behind in Boston to embark on a new chapter in her life and career. But an unforeseen detour to the charming town of Grandon Falls has her discover unexpected new chapters – of the heart and of family – helping her to embrace, once again, the magic of Christmas. Starring Candace Cameron Bure, Tim Rozon and Beth Broderick.
This is just one example. If you hopped over to here and see all the movies yourself, you’d have a better idea of the books to movies. The movies are mostly all contemporary, and no historical or paranormal, but, you know, don’t want to scare the civilians.
Now, I don’t want you to think that I’m advocating the tv instead of books. No, never that. It’s just another option during the busy season.
Staying on the theme of books to movies: I am thrilled to tell you about the Virgin River series going live!!! Woot!! Robin Carr wrote this series and I was absolutely wrapped up in binge reading her books. They are romance, but whoo boy, I think this will be a treat. Lock the channel on Netflix on December 6, 2019. Check it out for yourself here.
Here is the book series. I swear to you, I devoured them one after another. They were really good.
