The Protectors Series by Teresa Gabelman
Author: Teresa Gabelman
Series: The Protectors series
Source: Kindle Unlimited on Amazon
I binge read this series from Charger all the way through to Angelina over Christmas and into New Year’s break. That included:
Nervous Nellie’s nervousness necessitates knowledge of the novel. In other words …SPOILERS. *BEWARE*
Nervous Nellie says…
I like this series. I don’t know what happened, but after Bishop, the stories were fine but the writing was horrible! In the kindle books, there were so many typos, punctuation mistakes and sentence run-ons that it was distracting to read. It’s like the publishers took the author’s books and slammed it into kindle format without editing anything. The books also felt like they were written by someone else. The quality of the sentence structures, the speech patterns of the characters, and even the banter between the characters was off. There was a rescue to the demon realm and it took practically 2 pages, (I’m exaggerating) but it was quick. Maybe the publishers made the author hurry through the series just to push it to print. I surely don’t know what happened, but what was a good series sure got boiled down to the bare bones of a story – no edits and all. Fans of this series will want to know what happened to all the characters, so as long as you can look past the problems and find out what happens, you’ll be golden.
The stories were good – bare bones and all – but good. The flaws were that every other conversation by the Warriors turned into an all out fight. Granted, they are indestructible vampires, but these Warriors, that are supposed to work as a team, beat the crap out of each other over the littlest thing. “I’ll kill you” this and “I’ll kill you that”. I guess my disappointment in the quality of editing and the bare bones of a story just got to me. I would love to recommend this series to anyone, but these last few books-I think the publisher really needed to work harder at editing and less at pushing the book out just to say it was there.

Welcome to my Sunday book hunt and author gossip. Keep coming back for updates on book releases and news from favorite authors.
Back with new releases again… they keep writin’ them, we keep readin’ them.
Title: Night Rune
Author: Brad Magnarella
Series: Prof Croft #8
Release date: March 2, 2020
Description: Where to turn when all roads lead to ruin?
Last night I barely escaped 1776 New York City – now I have to go back.
My teammates are trapped in a time catch. Worse, the demon master Malphas is building a gateway there, one that could trigger a full-blown apocalypse.
But returning will require new allies: a crabby goblin, a fae princess and former lover, and the demon-vampire Arnaud. Yeah, that guy. And we’re no longer facing one time catch, but several. All ruptured and on the verge of collapse.
Now a simple rescue has turned into a death-defying journey, one that’s pushing my spell casting and stamina to their limits.
But as hellfire lashes up and day dims to eternal night, I’m facing an even greater test…
Choosing between my faith in magic and my love for Vega.
Night Rune is the 8th novel in the 100,000+ selling urban fantasy series. If you like occult action, spell-crackling suspense, and moments of heart, heroism, and all-out laughter, you’ll love Prof Croft!

Helping his new brothers of the VC keep all the Dragonfly Coven safe from the diabolical warlock, Orjyll, is Bishop’s number one priority. When that priority begins to shift and his focus is pulled away, his allegiance to the brotherhood is at risk.
Saving the world is something Bishop and the Warriors tirelessly do every day. But keeping witches safe is something new for Bishop, and if they fail and the Grail women fall to what the Fates bestowed on them many years ago, Hell on Earth could come swiftly.

Nervous Nellie’s nervousness necessitates knowledge of the novel. In other words …SPOILERS. *BEWARE*
Nervous Nellie says…
I’m going to be straight with you. I was disappointed in this story. I realize it was a short – 149 pages, but the writing was like a bunch of writers took a character and wrote their Christmas then smooshed all of the works together to complete the book.
It felt weird. I’d be reading along about one character and at the end of the sentence the next character would start his/her thing. It was just plain weird. Fans of the Protectors series will want to read this just to get a Protectors fix, but it isn’t the best work our favorite vampires have gone and done.
There is a bit of innuendo and lead on to sex but no descriptive stuff. There is a lot, and I mean A LOT of f-bombs dropped. I didn’t recall that many in prior books, though I do remember them. There wasn’t any death scenes. Mostly everything that played out was at the compound and it was warriors and mates talking, growling or kissing one another. There really wasn’t any development to the story, but it was good for a fix.
I don’t feel that I can rate this story very high since it appears like it was slapped together at the last minute. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t. It’s still good for a tide-me-over til the next book comes out.

Viktor by Teresa Gabelman
After having his life shattered by the woman who held his heart, Viktor Valentino put work before everything.
Title: Viktor

Series: The Protectors series #13
Release date: April 27, 2019

Lacey Cruz has always wanted to be a writer, but she’s never had the chance to pursue her passion. After being fired from a company she was employed with since graduating high school, she now has plenty of time on her hands.
Lover of all things paranormal, Lacey sets out to do research in hopes that special something will fall in her lap. Something does in the guise of a powerful vampire warrior. What Lacey doesn’t realize is she may be the heroine in her own real-life novel.
Nervous Nellie’s nervousness necessitates knowledge of the novel. In other words …SPOILERS. *BEWARE*
Nervous Nellie says…
This is about the Dark Guardian Victor and a sassy novelist, Lacey. The beginning starts out hilarious being that Lacey has a blind date with a so -called vampire so she can do research on her romance story.
I learned about Victor and his brother Bishop. I learned more about the witches – Bonnie included.
There really isn’t much more to say other than the story fits the same template excepting different characters and events. It kind of feels like the more that is added on to the Protectors series the less viable plots are available. It was ok. Not a high rater, but it’s ok.

- Jenn Stark is releasing a new book in the Wilde Justice series. If you are not familiar, this series spotlights Sarah Wilde in her new position on the Arcana Council. If you aren’t familiar with Sarah Wilde, then you really should start on the Immortal Vegas series where Sarah comes into her own. Jenn Stark is an excellent writer and her characters are whole and interesting.

Right in the heart.

- The next book I’m spotlighting is another series that I absolutely love. I’ve even started re-reading them! Teresa Gabelman writes a good vampire romance series called The Protectors. Of course the Vampires are kick ass and all good guys and gals.

- I have been following this series for years. Jess is a vampire that has not turned into a mindless eating machine due to her brother who is a priest. He works his Devine magic in order to save her from the vampire virus that turns vampires into those that cannot control themselves. It’s a good story, but like I’ve said in my past reviews there are places in the story that are not cohesive. I got confused a couple of times.
